The Indiana State Building & Construction Trades Council is an independent, umbrella, labor organization representing Indiana's construction unions. The council represents over 75,000 working men and women who are members of 127 affiliated local building and construction trades unions. The state council is comprised of elected representatives from each of the 15 affiliated international building trades unions.  Organized in 1910, the council is charted by the the national Building and Construction Trades Department of the AFL-CIO (1961) and is affiliated with the Indiana AFL-CIO.

The state council coordinates activities and provides resources to its affiliated building trades unions, as well as Indiana's 13 local Building and Construction Trades Councils (BCTCs). The council works to promote economic development, make job sites safer, deliver apprenticeship and journey-level training, organize new workers, pass legislation that positively affects working families, and assist in securing of improved wages, hours and working conditions through collective bargaining.
